Keep skin fresh and blemish free this winter

02nd January 2016

As winter continues to move in, the battle increases to keep skin fresh and blemish-free. With air-conditioned offices, harsh winds, dropping temperatures and damp in the air it can seem impossible to recreate that effortless holiday glow in the colder months of the year.

As that bronzed summer look fades, most of us find ourselves seeing our skin look visibly worse by the day. At Monu, we’ve certainly learnt some valuable skincare lessons over the years to help skin look brighter for longer and we put this into practice in every product we produce, ensuring dull winter skin is a thing of the past.

Follow our top winter skincare tips to see you through the worst of the winter, and come out the other side looking fresher than ever!

Cleanse, cleanse and cleanse some more:

A skincare must for any season of the year, we cannot stress how important cleansing is for the skin. Whether you’re using our Gentle, Active or Clarifying cream cleansers or the all-in-one Essential Care Cleansing Balm, you’re ensuring skin is left free of impurities and all signs of make-up are stripped away. Cleansing in the winter months is key to ensure skin remains nourished and conditioned in the harsher environment.

Exfoliating 3-4 times a week will help keep skin looking refined and refreshed throughout the winter. The Micro Exfoliant, for example, intensely cleanses the skin to reveal a more radiant complexion. Not only will it condition and moisturise the skin but it also stimulates cell renewal to ensure skin looks fresh, smooth and blemish-free. The perfect addition to your skincare regime this winter.

Although we moisturise on a daily basis all year round, in winter it’s important to replace lighter summer moisturisers with a richer alternative. Thicker moisturisers help dull-looking skin come back to life, retaining moisture and remaining hydrated when exposed to cold weather and centrally-heated rooms. Try our Moisture Rich Collagen Cream, Essential Elements or Recovery Balm.

To add an extra boost of hydration and moisture to your skin this winter, why not try using an oil instead of your night time moisturiser 2-3 times a week. Our variety of facial oils are catered to the individual needs of your skin type and work to rejuvenate the complexion whilst you sleep, penetrating deeper into the skin than a normal moisturiser. Oils will help your skin become more resistant to cold temperatures and chilly winds this winter.
