Festival Skincare Guide
22nd June 2016
Whether you’re off to Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds or V Festival this summer, there’s one thing that’s on every festival goers mind – how to pack for a fun-fuelled weekend of music, dancing, little sleep and next to no washing? Whilst it’s best to be prepared and you won’t fully enjoy your time without the essentials (don’t forget the tent), festival-going is all about packing light and keeping your weekend bag – not to mention your makeup bag - to simple essentials that are sure to help you sail through your stay.
The weather is sure to be unpredictable and showers are often nowhere to be seen when spending the weekend in a field. Keeping your skin looking and feeling fresh can seem like an impossible task but with just a few multi-purpose products it is easily achieved, even when you’re frolicking in the mud!
Follow our handy festival skincare survival guide and ensure your skin shines this summer! Our top tips and product recommendations promise to keep your complexion fresh, even when you don’t feel it...
When packing for a festival, unfortunately taking all of your usual lotions, potions and skincare favourites simply isn’t possible unless you want your bag to weigh more than you do! We recommend packing multitasking products that can remove makeup whilst also cleansing and hydrating to ensure you remain fresh all weekend.
MONU Foaming Cleansing Cloths are ideal for festivals and promise to easily slot into your weekend bag. Simply activate the cleansing cloths with water (you should have plenty of this with you!) to release the foam and wipe over the face and neck to remove makeup and surface impurities for an instant uplift. Who would have thought a radiant, healthy glow could be so easily achieved when camping in the great outdoors?
Moisturise, moisturise, moisturise
When you’re spending a weekend at a festival, it can be hard to be prepared for all eventualities – especially where the weather is concerned. Skin can become dry and dehydrated from exposure to both the sun and wind so we recommend packing a moisturiser, like Skin Perfector, to keep skin nourished and conditioned whatever the weather.
A gentle formulation, Skin Perfector keeps skin hydrated. An innovative combination of active ingredients, plus the incorporation of soft focus technology, energises and uplifts the skin whilst helping to reduce the appearance of blemishes – and you’re sure to have a few of those after a weekend of fast food and alcohol.
Brighten & Shine
To keep your complexion bright and balanced, whilst ensuring you look more awake than you feel, Brightening Boost serum and Illuminating Primer are a must for any festival! Not only will these small, sleek tubes take up next to no space in your bag, they promise to act as your festival skin saviours, allowing you to keep makeup to a minimum.
After using Foaming Cleansing Cloths and prior to moisturising, apply one pump of Brightening Boost to the face using a pressing motion to ensure skin absorbs the active ingredients, resulting in sheer luminosity and radiance. After you’ve moisturised, apply a touch of Illuminating Primer to ensure your makeup lasts from morning to night, no matter how much dancing you do!
Formulated using a unique blend of Zinc Oxide, Mica and Cassia Leaf extract and with added SPF15, Illuminating Primer keeps skin smooth, nourished and with a lasting radiant glow that hides the tell-tale signs of a late night and little sleep.
Refresh & Hydrate
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, it’s vital to keep hydrated during festival season. Drinking plenty of water may seem like an obvious thing to do, but it’s something many of us forget when we’re dancing the day away. Ensuring you take on the recommended 2 litres a day will not only leave you feeling fresh and energised but will also help skin to remain blemish-free and radiant.
However, if festival season does get the better of your skin turn to Rosewood Reviving Mist to instantly awaken your complexion. A makeup bag essential, the mist will revitalise the skin wherever you are; use it to fix makeup in place, or keep cool and calm in warm conditions by lightly spritzing over face and body.
